Being a newbie simmer the motivation for creating this site are quite selfish - I really enjoy the "study sim" aspects of the game and having to work in acquiring/improving skills, however I often find I spend more time searching forums and browsing manuals to find the relevant information I need to "study" than actually working on practicing the various skills.
E.g. I spent yesterday evening getting repeatedly shot down on one of the missions while trying different approaches. Without the understanding what it is that I am doing wrong, it seems rather hard to improve. Also, I don't want to post to the forums every time I have a question. So I set up this site in the hope that over time it might attract relevant info on skills, missions, etc. in a place which is easy to navigate compared to forums which are a bit 'all-over-the-place'.
Assuming this site hopefully starts to evolve into something useful, it should be a "community" thing which we should set up a number of key contributors as site administrators and then it will become a self-governing thing. Or, the DCS team could decide to set up their own Wiki to replace this one, and just pull all the information from this site. The key thing is that players should have a functioning wiki site for content which is better suited for persisting on a wiki rather than a forum.
I hope that this site will prove useful in some shape or form :-)

Edit: Just learned that DCS actually has a wiki here, which someone might get inspired to set up a similar structure site on that site instead. Or just use this one ;)
